Privacy Policy
How Atlas52 handles your personal data, in plain language.
Who we are
Atlas52 ("we", "us") is the companion app and website for the Atlas52 card game. Each physical card carries a QR code that unlocks matching digital content in the app. The app and this website are operated by CUCU R. FLORIAN PERSOANA FIZICA AUTORIZATA, Maramures 1, BL 2A, SC A, ET 3, AP 16, Campina, Prahova, Romania (registration number 39581405). You can reach us at [email protected].
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Data you give us
- Account data: your name, email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form. We cannot read them.
- Reports and feedback: if you report a card, the reason you choose and any comment you write.
- Messages to us: anything you send to [email protected].
Data created when you use the app
- Profile settings: your interface language and account type (for example, regular or elevated access).
- Unlocked sets: which sets you unlocked by scanning a card, and when.
- Likes: the cards you like.
- Announcements: which in-app announcements or terms updates you have seen or accepted, and when.
- Sign-in session: a token stored on your device that keeps you signed in.
Technical data
- When an image or video fails to load, the app sends a technical report: the file path, the card it belongs to, the error code and message, and your device platform (iOS or Android). These reports are not linked to your account.
- Like any online service, our hosting providers process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the service.
Camera
The app asks for camera access only so you can scan the QR code on an Atlas52 card. The image is processed on your device to read the code. We do not record, store or upload photos or video. Only the code itself (a token) is sent to our servers, to unlock the matching set.
How we use your data and why
- To provide the app: create and manage your account, sign you in, unlock sets, show content, and remember your likes and language. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- To keep the service secure and working: prevent misuse of codes and accounts, and find and fix content that fails to load. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To review reports about card content and improve its accuracy. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To tell you about important changes, such as updated terms. Legal basis: performing our contract and our legitimate interests.
- To answer your questions and requests. Legal basis: performing our contract and our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions that affect you.
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers that help us run Atlas52, and only as needed:
- Supabase provides our database, authentication and backend services.
- Cloudflare hosts this website, redirects the links printed on cards, and delivers images and videos.
- Apple and Google distribute the app through the App Store and Google Play. They handle their own store accounts under their own privacy policies.
The "Buy on Amazon" links open Amazon's website or app. We do not send Amazon any data about you, and Amazon's own policies apply once you leave Atlas52.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users' safety. Some providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- Account and activity data is kept while your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your profile, sign-in details, unlocked sets, likes, reports and announcement records are permanently deleted. See how to delete your account.
- Technical media reports are not linked to you and are kept only as long as needed to fix problems.
- Copies in backups may remain for a limited time and are then overwritten in the normal backup cycle.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or provide it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- You can edit your name and email in the app under Profile → Edit Profile.
- You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account.
- For anything else, write to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro.
Residents of the United States
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it deleted, and to correct it. You will not be treated differently for using these rights. To use them, contact us at [email protected] or delete your account in the app.
Children
The Atlas52 app is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that limit each account to its own data, and restricted access for our team. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
